    The Opportunity

    As part of a wider HR team, you will deliver a proactive generalist HR service for employees & managers within a varied client group encompassing Technology & Information Services, Finance & some commercial divisions.

     

    The role will involve: 

    • Advising and coaching managers & employees on a range of subjects, including application of policy, absence management, capability & disciplinary issues. You will also lead on Occupational Health referrals where required  
    • Help our managers & senior leadership teams to understand their employee engagement through a variety of mechanisms including formal engagement measurement tools and exit interview data.
    • As part of the wider HR team conduct research & benchmarking, or analysis of HCM data to provide context for HR & Senior Leadership insight.
    • Develop our managers’ HR skills & knowledge through individual coaching or delivery of short ‘brown bag sessions’ on key topics
    • Supporting onboarding of new employees in conjunction with managers to ensure a great experience
    • Leading research & project work on specific areas as required
    • Supporting our Talent Acquisition team to secure quality hires, from apprenticeship level upwards and supporting our efforts at careers fairs.

    About You

    You will be articulate, self-motivated, autonomous with a pragmatic commercial style.    You will also have:

     

    • Previous experience in an HR Generalist role advising line management & employees
    • Good understanding of employment legislation and how to apply this within a commercial environment.
    • The ability to communicate to all employees, at all levels of the organisation.
    • Confidence in challenging other’s perceptions and thinking, in an appropriate manner.
    • Ability to multi-task and deal with dynamic fast changing work environments whilst meeting agreed deadlines.
    • Experience of drafting papers, reports, presentations in a commercial style.
    • Experience of HR Databases, Workday (our new incoming system) would be an advantage.
    • PC Literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook
    • A willingness to travel to other sites within UK if required
