We have an exciting opportunity for a Software Development Manager to join our team in Swindon. Reporting into the Head of Development, you will be responsible for leading a Software Development team to deliver outstanding and valuable technology solutions for the business, creating a manageable pipeline of work for the team.
You’ll work in an iterative and agile environment with very close Product Management engagement. We strive for test automation as default and quality products to be delivered within all iterations. This is not a hands-on development role, and as such you will be a natural leader to engage, motivate and inspire your teams. You will need to be adaptable and passionate demonstrating and applying experience of appropriate methods of software delivery to ensure maximum effectiveness of your teams. Your role will involve recruitment, learning and development, regular performance reviews and associated career development plans, ensuring all team members are equipped to the highest skill levels required to perform their roles.
To be considered for this opportunity you’ll need to possess and demonstrate compelling leadership skills and have experience in driving the effectiveness of teams. Ideally you will be degree educated, and if you have any formal training in management and product management it would be highly advantageous. Experience in managing Development teams to deliver software products is a pre-requisite for this role. Through effective communication to both internal and external stakeholders you will need to use your subject matter expertise and business knowledge to influence and drive change.
