The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Flood Risk Consultant to join the team in Brighton. The team provide product and service level support to the legal, environment and mapping business areas. Predominately delivering risk assessments and consultancy projects, the team are also a technical support function direct for clients, or via our sales and customer services teams.


The core requirement of the role is to be the lead technical consultant for flood services within a fast growing and dynamic Environmental Consultancy. As the lead technical consultant for flood services, the technical accuracy and quality of all reporting and services are the responsibility of this position. As well as writing and reviewing assessments you will be responsible for training, providing support and mentoring the wider consultancy team to ensure we can scale this area of the business. You will be expected to bring in your own client base, develop and maintain relationships with repeat clients and identify new sources of business.

About You

To be considered for the role it is essential that you have a BSc/BA (Hons) in an Environmental Science or similar discipline. Additionally you will need to have completed 5 years working within flood sector and have mastered the following core skills; Flood Risk Assessments of all levels of complexity and scope, Detailed drainage strategies including SUD’s, Basement impact assessments and comprehensive proposals and project tenders. We require you to have commercial understanding of the cost structure in different roles with the ability to manage work effectively. Excellent communication and inter personal skills are essential along with being able to demonstrate energy, flexibility and autonomy.
