Landmark Information Group, part of the Daily Mail & General Trust (DMGT), is the UK's leading provider of land and property search information, including digital mapping, environmental risk reports for property professionals and sophisticated property management tools for surveyors, risk and fraud managers and the broader financial markets. It also has operations in Germany in the form of On-Geo, and interests in Holland. We develop both products and services/solutions for our customers, ranging from environmental consultants, surveyors and some of the UK's largest banks & lending institutions (to name just a selection) who all have a common interest - land and property information.
We are looking for experienced DevOps Engineers to join our team in Reading focusing on providing 3rd level and application/systems development support. You will work as part of a small team, managing multiple concurrent tasks with varying technologies, adopting developer/operations (DevOps) attitudes to ensure successful delivery of various internal and external projects. This is a full time role, however the successful applicant will be required to undertake on-call support duties where required. This exciting opportunity will encompass a blend of systems/application support, systems development, maintenance and administration.
To be considered for this role it is essential that you have solid experience in a technical support and design role with experience in providing 3rd level support in a similar field. An IT degree would be desirable, however this is not essential. You will need to be able to analyse problems and determine appropriate solutions and have in-depth experience in technical support encompassing varying hardware and software platforms. From a technical perspective, ideally you will have experience in:
• Administration of IIS with .NET application connectivity
• Continuous Integration tools
• Apache administration (with Java and Tomcat application connectivity)
• Web Server administration
• Oracle / MS SQL Database administration
• Use/understanding/exposure to at least one high level programming language
• Scripting (Perl, Python or Shell)
• Various Windows and Linux OS administration
• Networking (LAN / WAN / Internet)
You will also need to have excellent communication and problem solving skills and have the ability to work under pressure.
